The Family Care Society dedicated immense efforts to collection and preservation of national Palestinian dresses.
The society took early initiatives in collecting the old flok dresses, replicating and modernizing them with the aim of maintaining a bright and vivid image of the greatness and authenticity of Palestinian flok art, the mind of present and new generations to come. The Society through this endeavor aimed at providing a tangible proof of the deep rootedness and genuinity of the Palestinian people.
To achieve this goal the Society concentrated its efforts on replicating the dresses according to the old genuine styles, taking into consideration the unavailability of original fabrics and threads.
As the old dresses were characterized by lavish embroidery which is now costly and demanding long hours of protracted work, the Society set about modernizing these dresses by applying the old patterns of embroidery to modern fabrics in order to adequately reflect the distinctive palestinian impression.
