| Budget - Funding: |
The overall budget corresponding to the activities of
the project is funded by Europaid, European Commission. The local
efforts of the project partners come from the private sources of each partner. |
| Target group: |
The project addresses mainly women, which engage in the
creation of traditional and applied arts items and come from
under-privileged regions of the wider Mediterranean, as well as
associations for the preservation and promotion of the
cultural heritage of the participating countries. |
The program aims at the following :
- Preservation and promotion of the Mediterranean
countries'cultural heritage
- Strengthening and establishment of new trans-national
networks for the exchange of know-how
- Transformation of the engagement with the creation of
arts and crafts into a financially viable activity
- Enhancement of the skills and dexterities of the women,
in their capacity as developmental factors and 'vessels' for
the transmission of cultural heritage
In order to achieve the aforementioned aims, project ProDeCom, focuses
among others, on the following activities :
- Creation and publication of a guide, titled 'Arts and
Crafts in the Mediterranean countries'
- Creation of a Website, dedicated to the presentation and
promotion of arts and crafts in the Mediterranean countries
- Training, transfer of experience and know how
- Rotating transnational exhibition of arts and crafts
- Establishment of a 'Cultural Development Product' label,
which will allow the artist to engage with his/her art or
craft in a professional manner, and the consumer to be aware
of the conditions under which the product has been created,
thus acclaiming throgh his/her choice the wealth and quality
of products created in the Mediterranean countries.
