Local Efforts as a result of the Project

The following activites have resulted from the project:

  • A fund raising activity approved from AMIR/USAID for handcraft sector empowerment to be initiated immidiately
  • Local network meeting with local societies to introduce the project, label, and local efforts, in Sept, 2003.
  • Direct sales increase through expos and participant own handcraft e-commerce web site www.turath.com.jo.
  • Handcraft from Jordan Calender being printed and distributed in western countries as a joined effort between Seven Dimensions and Ara-Edition German company.
  • Training course in 'advanced sewing' being conducted for the associate societies and individuals.
  • Link initiation with Unerwa, Ejada, Unicef for ongoing cooperation

Seven Dimensions still has the following planned activities:

  • Several training courses and workshops implementation for the handcraft sector in Jordan Funded by the Amir project
  • Increase in the awareness of the private and governmental sector of the importance of support to the handcraft sector of Jordan
  • Opening new market channels efforts especially in the USA under the AMIR project
  • 'Product Development Label' local implementation when announced by PRODECOM
  • Increase in Turath Handcraft Mall sales through company efforts and AMIR project
  • Products development through dissemination of technical workshops executed by PRODECOM and funded locally by AMIR
